Religion plays a cruicial role in our everyday lives. It may play a larger part in the lives of some than in others, but for many, religion is used as a guideline of how we ought to live our lives. It is no wonder then, that over the years there has been an increase in the overall pervasiveness of religion in the news and other forms of media. This commentary is a recap of some major pieces of religious news between December 9th and December 16th.

Marine Le Penn on the Threat of Radical Islam


French authorities fight for the lifting of immunity placed on far right leader Marie Le Penn. Many have voiced complaints that Penn has been promoting racial hatred as she compared Muslims to Nazi groups.
