ABSTRACT: Three articles were taken from the Huffington Post to analyze the interaction that science and religion have, or at least the way the media believes they interact. The media is a powerful tool that continues to sway our views every day. The three articles that are getting analyzed are the following: Pope Francis: ‘Evolution Is Not Inconsistent With The Notion Of Creation’, 10 American Seminaries To Receive $1.5 Million In Grants To Include Science In Curricula, and Bishop Encourages Voters To Write In Mother Teresa To Show Their Anti-Abortion Stance. Also, the TLC show, My Five Wives was looked at to see the way that the producers wanted to portray their view of the family’s view on science and religion. Since family isn’t conventional, and don’t exactly fit into the “social norms,” it was interesting to see their view on science and religion together. Over all my research has concluded that Catholics aren’t as inviting when it comes to science encroaching on their lives, where Christians, and the family from My Five Wives, are more inviting to science in their lives. Now generalizing that isn’t necessarily the truth, but the media does lots of generalizing with those two groups to sway the views of its audience members.
