Introduction

There are vase amount of media highlights about religion in America public schools, rather its political correct or not, debates about the First Amendment is in play or not. We can start by analyzing news article of Christianity and Muslim interests in public school and how the news media portray them to common viewers. Questions that may come to concern is what is happening in today society that have corrupt our cultural tradition that have been set for years before 2015.

Christianity debates practices in public school system

Searching through the news media about Christianity tradition seem to be distinguish by other religion in public school. For example, we can look at these articles “La Cueva High School” the media stated that the 27 year old Christmas holiday had to be remove. The media portray that the Rabbi is the “bad guy” for the complaints on the behalf of non-Christian students within the school. As a result of the media portraying a simple matter into a larger issue than it is by citizens protesting against the judgement of the school district.

In the picture is an example, of citizens around the community showing their support to the school tradition of donating teddy bear for children less fortunate during the holiday.

Across the United States more and more issue concerning religion in public have become more popular and complex subject that media try to cover. For example, in Santa Rosa High School, a teacher was asked to take down his Ten Commandments from his classroom. We have seen more issue about religion in public more often because society want every term to be political correct when it comes down to religion, but disregard about the First Amendment, “Freedom of Religion.” As a result of asking the teacher to leaving the school and the students respond by protesting that the teacher should be able to stay at the institute. On the other hand, on the case of Beverlye Magnet School in Alabama. Students and teachers have by pass the strict rules about religion in public school, they attend their morning prayer before school start on every Tuesday. Since class is not in succession than its political legal for students and fatuity to practice their prayers.

Religion in public school is not only in the classroom, but also in the field. A simple act of traditional ritual by football coach do every game for eight years have been tested to ban his action. The media portray that the coach is the “good guy” because it’s in every rights in the First Amendment and liberty rights to practice his prayer for a safe football game. In addition, another issue that bans prayers from football field in Florida. Since both school was a Christian school and the coach was simply showing respect for the incident that accrue in California shooting, but got denied quest for the prayer on the field because it was on public grounds.

Islam in public school

As we are all aware of the incident of Ahmed Mohamed and his clock. We can analyze that from CNN that their commentary is used as a threat to other students. However, another part of their focus was on Mr. President about his comment to Ahmed, “Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House?” I can analyze that CNN maybe implying that Mr. President isn’t taken the matter more seriously than a mere joke.150916134402-clock-ahmed-mohamed-texas-medium-plus-169

From the look of Ahmed clock, however, that does not look anything close to a clock. Maybe in context of religion, Ahmed was speculated as a threat because of his Muslim name and appearance. With today society some citizens view Muslim in a narrow perspective of their character because of what happen in 9/11.

In conclusion

Every media source that are out there are basis in one way or the other because it was already interoperate by the report at the scene. As we can tell that if someone have a “religious view” on something isn’t in their cultural ritual, they demand that “object/subject” must be taken down because it’s against “their” religious belief. I could remember growing up in the 90s where I sang the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in public school and every ethnic/ religion didn’t seem to fuss a huge deal over it. As a child I did because it was one of the culture adaption that I felt was right. However, in current social position I can’t talk about religion freely because it may offends someone. It sicken to think that it’s the reality that I’m currently living in.
